Amy J. Hagberg
Amy Hagberg investigates time through slow exposures in her handmade pinhole cameras, using 8″ x 10″ photographic paper for the negatives. This process mirrors the life experience: sometimes a horrible failure occurs, and sometimes a surprising gift is bestowed. She also creates composite photographs by physically combining two images, adhering one printed on translucent vellum over a second printed on cold press paper. This partially obscures the viewer’s gaze from the original image beneath and mimics the shape-shifting of time: the present reshaping our memory.
Howard Dunn’s interest in photography began to blossom as a high school staff photographer, and he continued taking pictures while on assignment overseas as an Architect with the U.S. State Department. His photographs have been included inprestigious exhibitions on the Cape, including at The Cataumet Art Center and the CCMOA in Dennis, where two of his images are in the museum’s permanent collection. Howard’s photographs possess the special quality of transporting the viewer into the scene; he describes his work as “moody”, with a focus on tonal quality and basic composition. The MashpeeTV exhibit will be featuring work from his “Barns” series.
